The Nikon COOLPIX A is a point-and-shoot digital camera incorporated a16.2MP DX-format (APS-C) CMOS sensor. The lens focal lenth is 18.5 which is equivalent to 28mm of 35mm film camera. The maximum aperture is F2.8. Coolpix A LCD is 3 inches 91k dot. The camera can take full 1080p HD video. ISO sensitivity is between 100-25600. The exposure modes include AE Bracketing, AE Lock, Aperture Priority, Auto, Manual, Programmed Auto and Shutter Priority.

Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM Lens is the First Constant Aperture Zoom Lens
Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM was announced recently. The f1.8 aperture can be kept for the zoom range from 18 to 35mm. It is the first constanct aperture zoom lens. The lens uses an ultrasonic auto focus motor for fast and silent focusing. It is initially available in Canon EF, Nikon F and Sigma SA mounts. The new 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM Art lens gives users a 27-52.5mm (35mm equivalent) on a 1.5x crop APS-C dSLR. The Super Multi-Layer Coating on the lens is used to reduce lens flare and ghost.

Nikon Coolpix P330 Large Aperture P&S Digital Camera
Nikon announced the Coolpix P330 points and shot camera with a new larger sensor on board, with 1/1.7 of an inch to
work with, compared to 1/2.3 of an inch on last year's flavor. It can shoot raw with with a sensitivity range of ISO 80 through 12,800 and the 5x optical zoom lens.

Rumors circulated that Nikon may this year launched portable digital cameras with APS-C format. The new camera may be announced in one to two weeks. It is reported that the camera will use APS-C sensor with 16.2 million pixels, EXPEED2 image processor and F2.8 18mm (35mm equivalent to 28mm) fixed focus lens, and has Wi-Fi capability .

Nikon Profit Dropped 3.4% Compared to 42% of Canon
Nikon had revenue of $2.95 billion during the latest quarter, andearned about $202 million of that as profit. Compared to the same
period of time one year ago, revenue and profit dropped 2.9% and 3.4%,
respectively. The revenue and profit performed better than Canon’s 13% and 42% drop in revenues and profits of
$10.3 billion and $908 million.

The new Nikon V2 was announced today to replace the V1. It has a new 14.25-megapixel sensor. The camera body adds a grip and the camera completely not look like the old model V1. The addition of a mode dial on the camera's top panel can control over the usual P, A, S, M setting. There is a built in flash.
