The good: The Samsung WB150F has built-in Wi-Fi that's easily set up for wireless sharing and backup. It has an abundant set of shooting and editing options.

The bad: Samsung's smartphone apps are only guaranteed to work with Samsung Galaxy devices and its autobackup software is Windows-only. The camera's photo quality is barely better than a smartphone's and its shooting performance is somewhat slow.

The bottom line: If you're happy with the photos from your smartphone, but wish you had an actual camera with a long zoom lens and wireless sharing and backup, check out the Samsung WB150F.

Sony will Invest in Financial Trouble Olympus Soon

After rumors of a Panasonic investment in June, Reuters confirmed from three different sources that Sony and Olympus are ready to announce an investment that would represent 10 percent of the capital. Olympus reported a net loss of $630 million (49 billion yen) for the last fiscal year, mainly due to wrong financial decisions and the repercussions of the past scandalous affaire. Today, the company and three former high ranked executives pleaded guilty. Over a couple of decades, around $1.7 billion of losses were faked."

September 17, 2012, Canon officially released  PowerShot series of three new models. New models of G-series PowerShot G15, the highest in the history of Canon compact digital camera autofocus speed. PowerShot S110 is the S series of new models with new touch screen and Wi-Fi capabilities. PowerShot SX50 HS is the SX series of new models, equipped with a 50 optical zoom lens.

The PowerShot G15's autofocus speed is the highest in history of Canon compact digital camera. Equipped with wide-angle end to F1.8, telephoto end of F2.8, 5x optical zoom wide aperture lens. It is a high-performance camera following the flagship models PowerShot G1 X.

Leica's New Camera 24 X V-Lux 4 Mega Zoom Digital Camera

Leica today introduced a portable digital camera with a 24x optical zoom V-Lux 4. The camera uses Leica Vario-Elmar 4.5 - 108 mm f/2.8 ASPH lens, the 35mm equivalent focal length of approximately 25-600mm. The lens is 14 groups of 11 lenses, including five aspherical lens. At wide angle it can reach 1cm macro shooting.  The lens supports a maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the focal lengths. The V-Lux 4 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor has 12.1 million effective pixels. In addition to shooting picture, it also supports 1920x1080 60P video capture. In addition, V-Lux 4 has panoramic, HDR and 3D scene mode. Shutter speed is of 1/4000 seconds to 60 seconds and the sensitivity range of ISO100-6400.

The good: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is a slick, small rugged ultracompact that is fast to focus and shoot, and has plenty of fun shooting options for those looking to do more than just take pictures.

The bad: The TX20's photo quality is disappointing compared with nonrugged Sony Cyber-shots, and its design is almost too small and slippery to use in water.

The bottom line: The rugged camera that doesn't look rugged, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is a nice option for people wanting an ultracompact for days by the pool and nights on the town.
